Go Retro - Walking Cemetery Tour

October | Walking Cemetery Ghosts & Graveyards Tour

Go Retro has teamed with Friends of St. John's Cemetery Foundation to offer this fascinating walking tour of Pensacola's largest historic cemetery.  With graves dated back to the early 19th century, there are several stories to share.  Some are chilling.  Some will cause you to contemplate your own death.  This tour is very entertaining and is the perfect way to experience the cemetery prior to dusk.  When you arrive, either park in the lot across the street from St. John's Cemetery, which is located at 301 N. October 5 | Perdido Key Sports Bar Anniversary

Come celebrate five years of success with good times, awesome music and great friends! This special concert features the Nashville based band The Voodoo Fix and local Rock Stars Whyte Caps. Show kicks off at 8pm. Make sure to get there early to get a seat; the Key's gonna be ROCKING!

Perdido Key Sports Bar

47th Annual National Shrimp Festival

October 11-14 | 47th Annual National Shrimp Festival

Savor fresh from the Gulf seafood at the 47th Annual National Shrimp Festival during this four-day event from October 11 - 14 that attracts over 300,000 people. This year the festival will play host to more than 100 hours of musical entertainment featuring a lineup of national, regional and local acts.

Food is another highlight of the festival with 50 local and regional vendors lining the boardwalk at the public beach with mouth-watering delights. Due to the generous sponsors Organized Seafood Association of Alabama, Alabama Seafood Marketing Commission and Wind Creek Casino, 10,000 pounds of shrimp per day will be prepared by some of the area's best chefs in their award-winning recipes and given away for people to sample at different tasting times that will be posted on the outside of the sponsor tent.

Runners and walkers can enter the 10K and 5K races to help work off some of the great food at the festival. All net proceeds of the Run will be donated to Coastal Baldwin Education Enrichment, benefiting the local Gulf Shores and Orange Beach public schools.

Art lovers will have almost 200 booths of fine art and arts and crafts vendors from which to choose. Car lovers will have a chance to preview many of the new Chevrolet models that will be on display.

November 23 | First City Lights Festival Lighting Ceremony

Join downtown Pensacola and Winterfest on the day after Thanksgiving immediately following the Elf Parade! The Grinch will try and prevent the Mayor of Whoville from flipping the switch to turn on the lights.

Around 5:00 p.m., the grumpy Grinch will attempt to prevent Augustus Maywho, the mythical mayor of Whoville, from flipping the switch to light up downtown and officially launch the holiday season. The First City Lights will stretch from Garden Street to Main Street on Palafox!

The holiday lighting ceremony will launch the First City Lights Festival, a diverse, season-long lineup of downtown holiday events as traditional as “The Nutcracker” and as contemporary as Pop-Up Opera. Wandering along Palafox throughout the holidays, you may chance upon live street performances, caroling in the streets, Santa posing for photos and Winterfest Trolley Tours.

Blue Angels Practice & Autograph Sessions

The world-famous Blue Angels are based at NAS Pensacola, and can be seen practicing over the Museum at NAS Pensacola most Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from March to November. Practices typically begin at 11:30AM, and last about 55 minutes. Admission to practice is FREE and open to the public. 

Following most Wednesday practices, members of the Blue Angels meet fans and sign autographs inside the National Naval Aviation Museum.
